Why Are We Using it?
PAWS is one piece of a school wide PBIS program.
(More information about PBIS can be found at http://www.pbis.org/)
Our school is adopting this program as a tool to create an even better school environment for our students. By using this program, we can foster a positive learning environment and encourage our students to display specific, important characteristics as a student and as a person. In order to help the students understand the importance of showing good character, we encourage you to foster these character traits at home as well.

How do Students Earn "Pawsitives"?
There are two kinds of "Pawsitives", individual and classroom.
Individual students get pawsitives for displaying the character traits outlined in PAWS. Upon receiving the pawsitive, the student will be give positive, specific feedback to let them know EXACTLY what they did correctly.
Classrooms will receive a pawsitive when the group of students has displayed the character traits in PAWS.
Any adult in the building (teachers, office, lunch, custodial, etc.) can hand out pawsitives to students who are displaying good PAWS character!
